I am an artist living and working in the foothills of North Carolina. I discovered painting while a student of architecture at NC State University.
My work is greatly influenced by an architectural interest in the genisis of form, space, and tectonics. I am facinated by how things are 'built', and painting allows me to explore the existential nature of irregular forms in space. I find this leads to a primal complexity, where systems of forms vie for a place in an evolving hierarchy.
The finished piece has a unique formal vocabulary that forms a cohesive composition ideally yielding an aesthetic experience.
